PROGRAMME Saturday 18.00
p.m.: leaving from Naples to Capri. This Mediterranean jewel, treasured by
the Roman emperor Tiberius, and celebrated in the works of many illustrious
poets, is the Isle of Capri. The intoxicating fragrance of flowers and
vibrant splashes of colour amid the traces of an ancient past, a natural beauty,
and a sensation of peaceful tranquillity, interrupted only by the song of the
sea birds, conjure up the magical atmosphere of this truly wonderful island.
Mooring in Marina Grande’s roadstead, landing and up by funicular to the
“Piazzetta” that is considered by everybody the “world salon”, with its
prestigious bars. Every day You can take the coffee or a cocktail next to a
personality of the political life or next to men of letters. Sunday:
tour of the Island and bath in Marina Piccola’s bay very fashionable, rich of
bathing establishment in the gorgeous Faraglioni’s set. In the afternoon
navigation towards Ischia that is called the Green Island thanks to its
luxuriant vegetation, an habitat made up of the rocky cliff of Mount Epomeo,
from the sweet hills cultivated at vineyard, from the restful pinewoods, the
fresh sea breeze, the beaches and the many evocative views make of the ancient
Inarime land a kind of sweet enchanted garden where to enjoy the beneficial
effects of the everlasting youth springs (in fact Ischia is famous for its hot
springs). Another peculiarity of the Island are the striking beaches and
headlands, sandy shores alternating to rocks to which is given the Island
development. We’ll moor in S. Angelo’s bay small Village practicable only on
foot, which, it’s present tourist vocation, has supplanted fishing, prevalent
activity many years ago. The residential complex is made of a large group of
short houses, most of them painted of pink, gathered around narrow roads that
join again in the Village, near the natural isthmus that ties up the Village to
the characteristic headland. Monday: stop in the relaxing Sorgeto’s
bay (the name came from spring) where the landscape beauty and the natural
spring of thermal water make you forget the big cobbles that replace the sand.
In the afternoon navigation towards Ventotene. Tuesday: we’ll stop in
the bay beside the old port of Ventotene, Roman port entirely dug-out in the
tuff. Than the fish pond, the impressive archaeological ruins of Villa Giulia,
and the Villa Stefania’s tanks all testify the importance that Ventotene still
had in the ancient times. The ancient sea Village, the S. Candida Church, the
Tower Fortress and the stately prison on S. Stefano Islet are the most important
Ventotene’s Bourbon monuments. The beauty of this route is tightly tied to the
Island’s origin, volcanogenic and it explains its characteristic coasts
conformation, that look generally steep, smooth by the sea and the wind, with
rare inlets. There are few beaches, while the striking places that you can
admire from the boat are numerous. In the afternoon navigation towards Ponza.
Wednesday: Ponza the Mediterranean pearl. Its rocks vary in fantastic
shapes and take different colors, from white to green to brown related to the
ancient lava flows. The characteristic Village with its multicolored hauses and
the ways that climbs towards the high, flanked with shops, gathers around the
Borbonic port. Stop in the beautiful Chiaia di Luna bay, in the Neapolitan
dialect “chiaia” means beach. The name of this beach is suggested by its
curvature (semi-lunar) and by the white rocks on the farthest end. In the
afternoon navigation towards Cala Feola bay the most striking of all
Western Coast of Ponza. Protected by the Cape Bosco hills and by the Mount of
the Corte, it already has numerous well preserved truffle houses that the first
colonists carved in tuffaceous rock and at this rooms they add others in stone.
Whether the carved rooms or the ones constructed, have Arabian dome-shaped
roof. Thursday: navigation towards Palmarola. The biggets
one of the Ponza’s satellite Islands. It has got a typical volcanic structure,
with similar morphology to that one of Ponza: rocks, caves and stacks make of it
a spectacular habitat. Stop in front of the Midday stacks (this bank takes its
name from the Palmarola Midday Point, one of the two limbs of Cala Brigantina
and that it “was” Midday Arch, two highest rocky spires that elevated from the
surface to the sky and one time they connected in a kind of Arch. Later on the
Arch collapsed and today remain, well visibile even faraway, the two highest
spires. The Midday Bank is indicated by this two rocky “antenna”). In the
afternoon tour of the Island and return to Ponza. Friday: navigation
towards Procida. The Island is full of coloured houses, ancient palaces,
breathtaking views, vineyards, lemon-houses, blue wistaria, beaches, inlaids,
blue sea, scents and tastes. In the afternoon stop in Chiaiolella Roadstead the
most well patronized beach of the Island. Is an extension of the Ciraccio beach,
but the Procidan call it in a different way. Sun all the day and afternoon
wind, make Chiaiolella beach a pleasant meeting place even for the presence of
bars, restaurants and pizzerias. Here we’ll spend the night. Return to Naples.
During the navigation you’ll enjoy the beautiful view of Naples from the sea.
Saturday 09.00 a.m.: return to Naples. While sailing you can enjoy
the beautiful view of the city from the sea.
